The Group 3 Launceston Cup will be run Wednesday, 24th February at the Launceston race course in Tasmania.

The Launceston Cup is run over a distance of 2400 metres and is an open handicap race with a prize money of $300,000.   

Zavite was successful in the 2009 Launceston Cup in defeating Centurytwentyone into second place with Itsa third.

The Examiner Newspaper Fashions is hosting the fashions on the field competition for both men and women with great prizes.  First prize for women is a holiday in Paris - includes return airfares for two, six nights accommodation and $1,000 spending money.

For the men, a trip for two to Hong Kong - includes airfares, accommodation and spending money.  Pre-entry is not required, just enter on the day.  Assemble at the Fashions on the Field marquee (near the entrance to the course) by 1pm.  (Total prizes are worth more than $20,000).
