A top days entertainment is planned for Lightning Stakes Day which will be held on Saturday, 30 January in Melbourne at the Flemington race course.

There are eight scheduled races for Lightning Stakes Day, with the main group races being:
- Group 1 Lightning Stakes down 1000 metres straight (weight for age)
- Group 3 Hayes Stakes down 1200 metres straight (3yo C&G - Set weights & Penalties)
- Group 3 Vanity Stakes down 1200 metres straight (3yo Fillies - Set weights & Penalties).

Lightning Stakes Day should be a great day of racing and gates open at 11.20am with the first race to be run at 12.50pm with the last at 5.30pm.

Admission prices for Adults $20 with Student/Concession $16 and Pensioner/Concession $10.

There will be a variety of restaurants open on the day, which cater for a wide range of foods and drinks. The children will enjoy activities such as shetland pony rides, face painting and tug of war.

Racecourse tours are also available 15 minutes before Races 2, 3, 4 and 5 - meeting at the Bart Cummings statue.
